My Top 5 Local Missouri Wineries

Fall is fast approaching, which means it’s the perfect time to head out to the Missouri wineries! Spending a day on the wine trail is hands-down my favorite thing to do in the fall. Nothing beats sipping on a glass of wine while taking in the views of rolling hills lined with grapevines, colorful fall leaves, and that fresh, crisp autumn breeze! I recently moved out to Washington, MO, which is just minutes from Augusta Wine Country, so my husband and I have been spending a lot of time visiting different wineries. I’m no wine connoisseur, but I still love the relaxed atmosphere, the overpriced cheese platters, and the amazing views you can’t find anywhere else. So after a lot of consideration, I’ve compiled a list of my top 5 local Missouri wineries. It was very hard to narrow down the list to only 5, but here it is (in no particular order):

Montelle Winery – You just can’t beat the views at Montelle! The first time I walked out onto Montelle’s giant deck, I was in awe. You have to see it to believe it, trust me. They also offer Sunset Dinners, which is probably one of the best date night ideas ever.
Location: Augusta, MO

Montelle - Fall

Balducci Vineyards – The rolling hills and the relaxed atmosphere make this one of my favorites. There is plenty of room to spread out in the grass and take in the scenery while listening to the live music. They also have a barn that was converted into an outdoor bar, which would be a great place to have a bachelorette party, birthday party, bridal shower, etc.
Location: Augusta, MO

Oak Glenn Vineyards and Winery – I’ve only been here once, but I fell in love with the place. The view is phenomenal, the staff was very friendly, and the outside patio is massive. Plus Hermann is one of the most beautiful towns in Missouri. If you are looking for a romantic getaway or a weekend out with friends, you should really consider making the trip out there. They have other great wineries too, but again I had to narrow it down to only 5…
Location: Hermann, MO

Crown Valley Winery – I might be biased because this winery is just minutes from my hometown of Farmington and it was the first winery I ever went to, but it’s definitely worth the drive out there! Crown Valley is huge and their wine is among my favorites. You can even go on a guided wagon ride tour! They also have a brewery not far from the winery with massive fire pits that overlook a bison farm.
Location: Ste. Genevieve, MO

Chaumette Vineyards and Winery – Just a few miles down the road from Crown Valley, you will find this luxury resort-like winery. It’s a perfect wedding destination, but you have to book way in advance for a fall wedding (I learned this the hard way). And if the views and gourmet food and wine weren’t enough, Chaumette also offers villas and spa services.
Location: Ste. Genevieve, MO.
