chili-cookoff 2nd Annual Downtown Chili Cook-off: The Downtown St. Louis Restaurant and Bar Association will host the 2nd annual Downtown Chili Cook-off. Over 20 Downtown restaurants will compete once again for the title of Best Chili Downtown. There will be live music, food booths, games for all ages, beverages and more. This is a family event. Tickets will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. You can purchase tickets online in advance.

sea lion Sea Lion Spring Training: The sea lions have all reported to spring training at Sea Lion Sound, and you’re invited to cheer them on from the bleachers. Our “Fish League” practices even include a few baseball-themed activities for the animal athletes — Cardinals-inspired, of course! Fans can observe the animals working on new behaviors with their trainers at this sneak peek into the show season. Shows are at 1 and 3 p.m. every day. $2/person. Children under 2 are free. Weekend shows start April 4th.

third degree 3rd Friday: Kids Night Out: Looking for a cool, unique night out for the entire family? Third Friday is the place to be this month! We’re working with Artmart again this year to bring drawings to life! Kids who create a drawing at Artmart’s table could have their piece selected by one of our glassblowers to transform into a 3D glass sculpture! East Gallery will feature “Critters ‘n’ Kids,” the beautiful work of local artist Sandy Brooks! Join the St. Louis Hoop Club for an interactive demonstration. Rock out with every St. Louis kid’s favorite musician, Celia at 7:00p. And then stick around for another awesome performance by The Bottlesnakes at 8:00p! Sip on our signature cocktail, a Shirley Temple, and some delicious pizza on the patio, provided by Pi Pizzeria! The first 10 guests to sign up at Third Friday will get to create a unique design, which will be sandblasted onto a sculpted glass egg! A perfect gift or decoration for Easter! We’ll be featuring hourly glassblowing demonstrations, as well as guided activities and fiery performances by St. Louis Fire Technicians!

david nail Hot Country Nights: Ballpark Village started a series of country nights with awesome country artists performing every weekend in February & March. It kicked off with Dustin Lynch followed by a free show with Jana Kramer. This Friday, David Nail will be performing on the FOX Midwest Sports Live! stage. Tickets are $11 in advance of $15 day of. Craig’s hits include: Kiss You Tonight, Let It Rain, and Whatever She’s Got. Must be 21 to attend. Show starts at 8pm.

midnight madness Midnight Madness: Gateway Motorsports Park Opening Day: The racing season at Gateway Motorsports Park officially opens Friday, March 20 with the most outrageous post-St. Paddy’s day party with drag racing, drifting, a hard-park car show, midway games, tunes spun by D.J. Frizzy, live performance from The Clark Academy Irish Dancers, and a Leprechaun Look-A-Like! There will also be food and drink specials all night long, and a selfie room. Ticket costs $15 to watch and $25 to race and children 12 and under are free. Gates open at 6:00pm; racing 7:00pm – 1:00am.

The foursome-consisting of Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook, Phillip Sweet, and Kimberly Schlapman-will also be releasing their highly anticipated new single, “Girl Crush,” to country radio today. Other Little Big Town hits include: Day Drinking and Pontoon. Tickets range from $20 to $42.50.

Listen to the roar of the magnificent but treacherous tigers. Watch the elephants as they trumpet around the “Three Rings”. Taste the wonderful carnival food such as cotton candy, snow cones, peanuts, popcorn and soda. There are numerous different acts that everyone can enjoy. Tickets start at $18.

make me laugh Make Me Laugh: St. Louis: Make Me Laugh is looking for the funniest amateur comedians in your area. Our goal is encourage comedy and comedians all throughout the nation and support young comic dreams. We offer opportunities nationwide and hope to instill a successful attitude in comedy for a lifetime. The St. Louis semifinals take place at Blueberry Hill on Friday night, followed by the finals at Firebird Saturday night. Semifinals feature: Ron Finger, Dave Gregory, Jackie Pirico, Melissa Richelle, Scott Shaffer, Mike Stricker, and Dale Zawada. STL judges include: John & Kane, Luke Taytro, Jeremy Essig, and Simeon Goodson, and Hoboken Comedy Festival Founder, Dan Frigolette, and Make Me Laugh Albany winner, Erik Anker. Tickets are $10.

forest park bicycle Tour of St. Louis Bicycle Races: Two Days, Three Events, $3400 in Prize Money. Saturday Morning: Racer’s will test themselves on the Wildwood Centaur Time Trial course- one of St. Louis cycling’s favorite stretches of road. Saturday Late Mornings and Afternoon: Racers will test themselves on the winding and rolling Carondelicious Criterium. Sunday: Racers will duel it out on the flat and fast Great Forest Park Bicycle Race criterium course. The only bicycle race in the City’s premier park. The Omnium: Racers participating in the Omnium must compete in all three events. Omnium categories are: Women 3/4, Men 4, Men 3, Men Pro 1/2, Women Open and Men Masters 40+ (Cat 1-4). Men Cat 4/5 and Juniors are not competing for overall omnium prizes.

However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
