Veterans Day is Friday, November 11th, 2016. A day to honor those who have served in the armed service. It is not only a federal holiday, but also probably the biggest freebie day of the year.

For those who have served, currently serve, or are an immediate family member of a veteran in the St. Louis area, there are tons of awesome freebies to enjoy on this special day. (Please note: While most places may not ask, you may have to show proof of current or past military status. Additionally, not all restaurants/store franchises may be participating. You may want to call ahead to a specific place you’re interested in to be sure).

Food:

McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant (Des Peres): Sunday, Nov. 6 – Veterans Appreciation Event. Veterans will be able to choose a complimentary meal from a special menu.

River City Casino: Nov. 11 – Free lunch or dinner buffet at The Great Food Exposition to anyone with a veteran’s card or valid military ID.

Golden Corral: Nov. 14 – Military Appreciation: Visit your local Golden Corral on Monday for a free meal to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. Locations in STL area: St. Charles, O’Fallon, St Joseph, Lindbergh, Alton, Carbondale, Shiloh, and Collinsville.

54th Street: November 11: Free meal up to a $12 value for veterans and active duty on Veterans Day. Locations

Max & Erma’s: November 11 – Participating locations are offering a free Best Cheeseburger meal which includes a 1/2 lb ahnd crushed cheeseburger, endless seasoned fries, and a fountain drink. Dine-in only. St. Louis locations: Lake St. Louis, St. Peters, Des Peres.

Applebee’s: Nov. 11 Free signature Thank You meal to military veterans and active-duty service members. There will be 7 entrées to choose from. Beverage and gratuity not included. Military ID or proof of service required.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Nov. 11 – Veterans and active duty military personnel receive one small order of wings and a side of fries for free on November 11 all day.

California Pizza Kitchen: Nov. 11 & 12 – Enjoy any pizza and a non-alcoholic beverage for free with valid ID or proof of service. Dine-in only.

Chili’s: Nov. 11 – Free meal from a special Veteran’s Day menu. Offer only available at participating Chili’s in the U.S. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included.

Denny’s: Nov. 11 – Free Build Your Own Grand Slam from 5am-12pm at participating locations nationwide.

Hooter’s: Nov. 11 – Choose from a variety of free veterans day meal options. Locations in Fairview Heights, Florissant, Maryland Heights, South County, downtown, and St. Peters.

Krispy Kreme: Nov. 11 – Free doughnut and small coffee. Locations in Fairview Heights, Ferguson, Fenton, and on S. Lindbergh. No ID required. Call to verify participating locations.

O’Charley’s: Nov. 11 Free entree from the $9.99′er menu. They’re also partnering with The Folded Flag Foundation where for each 22 oz. draft beer purchased, a portion of the proceeds will be donated.

Olive Garden: Nov. 11 – Free entree from select menu. All entrees include fresh baked garlic sticks and choice of soup or salad. Dine-in only. Call for participating locations.

Outback: Nov. 11 Free Bloomin’ Onion and a non-alcoholic beverage. This offer is available to military personnel and veterans with ID. Also, Nov. 12-Dec. 31 – Receive 15% off your purchase.(Outback hasn’t officially announced  this yet, but military websites have so it will likely be happening).

Red Lobster: Nov. 11 & 12  Free Appetizer or Dessert from a list of options for Veterans with military ID or proof of service.

Red Robin: Free Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries on Veterans Day.

Starbucks: Nov. 11 – Free tall brewed coffee for veterans and spouses.

Texas Roadhouse: Nov. 11 –  Free lunch for all veterans from 11am-2pm with proof of service.

T.G.I. Friday’s: Nov. 11 – Veterans and active duty military get a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Retail:

Bed Bath & Beyond: Nov. 7-11 – 20% off entire purchase during the Bed Bath and Beyond U.S. Armed Forces Appreciation Weekend. This is good for active duty, DoD, Guard, Reserves, retirees, veterans, and military spouses. In-store only. Some limitations apply.

Lowe’s: Nov. 11 and  holiday weekend – 10% discount off purchases. Check out the link for more info on this incentive.

Home Depot: Home Depot offers a year round 10% discount off purchases for military – active and veterans and their families.

Dollar General: Nov. 11 – 11% discount on entire purchase. Offer good for all active-duty military, retirees, veterans, Guard/Reserve, & immediate family members. They will also be extending their store hours for more convenient shopping.

Great Clips: Nov. 11 – Customers who come in for a service can get a free haircut card to give to their favorite veteran. Veterans can also receive a free haircut or get a free haircut card redeemable until Dec. 31. Locations

Foot Locker: Nov. 11 – Veterans, service members (active, guard, and reserve), and their immediate families with a Foot Locker Veterans Advantage Card receive a 20% discount. Offer is good both online and at any store location, including Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Foot Action and Champs Sports.

Steve Madden: November 11 – Everyone gets 20% off. Service members receive an additional 10% off. Valid in stores only, must present proof of service.

Amazon.com:  November 11 – 20% or more off online purchases.

Free Car Washes: Nov. 11 –  Auto-Spa, Concord, Country Club, Gas House, Rain Tunnel, SqueakyClean, Waterway, and many more. Check the website for the full listing of locations.
