Fall is here and winter will be fast approaching, but don’t let that keep you inside. There is so much to explore in St. Louis and there is no better time than the present to get out and taste it!

Being a lover of food, I’m letting you in on some amazing local restaurants that you must-visit. These recommendations offer something for everyone and I can’t think of a better reason to get up, brush your hair, and look presentable so you can enjoy some of the finest food and drink that St. Louis has to offer. Bon Appetite!

Stellina (Pasta Café) – 3342 Watson Rd. St. Louis, MO

This husband and wife owned restaurant is an amazing little gem. From the fresh made from scratch pasta to the deliciously crafted cocktails, you cannot go wrong here! They are currently open for dinner only from Tuesday-Saturday, but will be adding a Sunday brunch soon. You will likely need to call and make a reservation as seating is limited, but it is well worth it.

stellina My recommendations:

The Olive & Hummus plate – made fresh daily and served with toasted pita triangles; this starter will make you wanna slap your neighbor it’s so good!

Southside Smoke – If you ever wondered what Heaven on a plate would taste like, this would be it. Pulled pork, smoked gouda, caramelized onions on sea salt ciabatta…I’m drooling on my keyboard just typing about it!

Hog Wild – Shaved ham, white cheddar, granny smith apples…you’ll go HOG WILD literally at these flavor combinations.

Smoked Bacon Asiago & Spinach Lasagna – It’s bacon in lasagna…nuff said.

They offer daily specials that change each week in addition to delicious made from scratch desserts. If you’re looking for a weekend dinner place, call and make your reservation today!  5 stars!

Absolutli Goosed – 3196 S. Grand  St. Louis, MO

This South City hangout offers the best hand crafted martini’s you could ever ask for! They also offer other cocktails and beverages but they are known for their martinis. If you’re hungry for a light nosh, they offer a menu of appetizers and small plates to satisfy your cravings. Be sure to check out their daily specials, from $5 Martini Monday’s to Pure Decadence Saturday, there’s a drink special for everyone!

My Recommendations:

Pumpkin Pie Martini

Godiva Down – Because…chocolate….Godiva.

Salted Carmel – They rim the glass with melted caramel and salt! This creamy and potent cocktail goes down way too easy.

Any of the Cosmos  – Make it a Sex in the City kind of night out with your girlfriends and have a cosmo. They’re delicious!

Open until 12am Mon-Thur and 1am Fri-Sat, there’s no reason not to find time to stop in and have a libation or 4!

Jilly’s Cupcake Bar  – 8509 Delmar Boulevard St. Louis, MO

So, this may not be a secret to anyone but it is definitely worth a mention. This U-City hot spot is a 2 time winner of Cup Cake Wars on The Food Network and when you step inside you will know why. Their creations are original, decadent and indulgent! There isn’t a flavor you could choose that you would be disappointed with. Did you know they also serve brunch!? This is a must-visit for the whole family. Sundays from 9am-2:30pm they have a fantastic and flavorful menu from brisket hash, maple sausage, 6-way mac-n-cheese, biscuits and gravy, and wait for it….a MAKE YOUR OWN CUPCAKE BAR! Bam! Mind blown! On top of all that, they also offer lunch daily and boxed lunches for those on the go.

My Recommendations:

Reese’s Chunkage – Chocolate or Vanilla cake option, stuffed with peanut butter cream filling and piled high with chunks of Reese’s peanut butter cups. Yum!

pumpkin cheesecake Pumpkin Cheesecake – If you get blitzed about Pumpkin Spice Latte then you’ll go cray over this autumnal delight! Pumpkin cheesecake cake filled with Dulce de Leche caramel filling and stacked to the sky with pumpkin spice and vanilla butter-cream, dusted with candied pecans; you’ll swear you’ve seen the Great Pumpkin!

Check out this dessert oasis and pick up a cupcake pack for the whole gang! You don’t need a special occasion to indulge in one of these enormous delicacies. Worth every penny.

So there you have it folks, I’ve wrapped up dinner, dessert and drinks for you in a nice pretty package. It’s a night out that will have you in foodie heaven for weeks to come! Whether you venture to these wonderful gems together or one at a time, you will not regret taking time from your day to enjoy a taste from the menu.

Summer might be over, but there are still plenty of reasons to get out and explore our fair city. There are so many other hidden diamonds out there just waiting for you to find them! I hope you make the trip to check them out. And know that when you are visiting these local phenoms I will be super jealous of you!
