This is just ridiculous on many levels.

Emma Watson talks feminism at the United Nations

Actress Emma Watson, recent college graduate and the United Nation’s Women Goodwill Ambassador gave a powerful speech Saturday at the United Nations about what feminism really means while launching the “HeForShe” campaign. The actress famous for her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter series said the campaign aims to promote the rules of both men and women in advocating for gender equality.

St. Louis Cardinals clinch playoff spot

For the fourth consecutive year, the St. Louis Cardinals will be playing baseball in October. The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday and guaranteed the Cardinals a Wildcard playoff spot at worst. After losing to the Cincinnati Reds last night, the Cardinals’ lead in the National League Central fell to 2 1/2 games over the Pirates.

The Cardinals, who have multiple players suffering from the flu, traveled to Chicago after the game last night for a series with the Cubs. The team hazed its rookies by making them dress in costumes for the flight. Randal Grichuk tweeted a picture of the costumed crew, including some dressed as St. Louis Rams cheerleaders. Grichuk had an excellent weekend at the plate as well. He’s put up some good numbers against left-handed pitching.

Brawl at Arizona Cardinals -San Francisco 49ers game gets real bloody This is pretty brutal. A few things to note. Dude in backwards gray hat deserves real jail time. He sucker-punches guy in red and sends everyone toppling down the concrete stairs. (:26) Dark-haired woman in #52 red jersey is just wailing on guy who had gray hat one before then puts him in a headlock. (:38). Guy with Cardinals hard hat isn’t just throwing punches to throw punches like this says. A guy is choking an usher so he punches him to get him to let up. (:43) A whole lot of blood was lost during this brawl. A good amount ended up on this guy’s shirt. (2:16)

Fans also got out of control at the Philadelphia Eagles game over the weekend.

Mizzou football falls to Indiana

We’re not talking about it. It was terrible and there was no excuse for it. Bring on South Carolina on Saturday. ESPN’s College GameDay has chosen Columbia, South Carolina as its backdrop for the day.

St. Louis Blues fall in OT to Columbus

It’s crazy, but the St. Louis Blues played their first preseason game yesterday. They fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 in overtime. Jori Lehtera, Vladimir Tarasenko and Sebastian Wannstrom scored for St. Louis. Jake Allen stated the game in goal for the Blues and allowed 3 goals on 11 shots. Matt Climie replaced him in the third period. Climie has played in the American Hockey League for the last three years with the Chicago Wolves. Climie once got traded in Juniors for $500 and had to drive the almost 3,000 miles across Canada to report to his new team.

**UPDATED** Woman gets third boob; is bat-shit crazy

A 21-year old in Florida (of course) has gotten herself a third breast via surgery. She hopes to film her life for a show called Jasmine’s Jugs and get it on MTV. Because of course this story gets more ridiculous, she says that she got the third boob to appear less attractive to men. Jasmine Tridevil has a Facebook page if you want to follow her. Snopes.com now has links proving this story is fake. I mean, unless there was another reason this woman filed for “safekeeping” of her “three breast prosthesis” at the Tampa Airport last week.

St. Louis Rams go up 21-0 on Dallas Cowboys in first half; manage to lose game

Bruce Carter’s 25-yard inception return for the touchdown sealed the win for the Dallas Cowboys yesterday. Austin Davis threw two TDs in the first half for the Rams on the way to a 30 for 42 passing day for 327 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Janoris Jenkins had his own 25-yard interception return for a TD in the second quarter to put the Rams up 21-0. From there, the Cowboys scored 20 straight points to close the gap. In the fourth, Tony Romo led the Cowboys on a drive that lasted seven minutes and fifteen seconds and was capped with a 12-yard TD to Terrance Williams with 6:13 left in the game. 15 game seconds later came Carter’s “pick six”. The Rams were able to pull within three when Austin Pettis caught a 4-yard Davis pass for a TD with 2:36 remaining. Rams tight dnd Jared Cook dropped a pass from Austin Davis in the end zone in the 4th quarter, which led to an outburst on the sidelines. Davis tried saying something to Cook on the sidelines and got shoved. Williams Hayes took offense and went after Cook. Cook apologized after the game. The Rams had a chance to tie or win on late drive, but Williams Sims was flagged for defensive holding. Sims got to Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo on the play for the sack. No one anywhere has a real explanation on how Sims could have held a receiver and got a sack on the same play.

The Maze Runner exceeds expectations; tops box office

The Maze Runner was expected to top the weekend box office, but it’s estimated take of $32.5 million exceeded estimates. 20th Century Fox announced the sequel, The Maze Runner: Scorch Trails will open on September 15th, 2015. A Walk Among the Tombstones took second with $13 million and This Is Where I Leave You took third with $11.8 million. We’ll have more on the weekend box office on Thursday in our Weekend Movie Guide. Taylor Swift hosts invite-only 1989 listening party for fans

Taylor Swift, fresh off a pretty awesome performance at the iHeartRadio music Festival, invited some friends over this weekend to listen to her new album, 1989 and eat cookies she baked. By friends, I mean a few fans. Taylor and the lucky fans listened to the album at Swift’s house in Los Angeles and then everyone took fairly ridiculous photos with T-Swizzle, her cat and her Grammys. Read more about #1989SecretSessions.
