18-year-old Micheal Brown was shot and killed by a Ferguson police officer on Saturday afternoon. Reports differ on what actually transpired before the fatal shooting. Emotions in the community boiled over last night after a candlelight vigil was held at the scene of the shooting. 32 total arrests were made, two officers were injured and multiple stores were looted in Ferguson. A QuikTrip was the first to be ransacked. That store was later set on fire and is completely destroyed. The Rev. Al Sharpton is due in St. Louis later today. Civil Rights attorney Benjamin Crump has been retained by Michael Brown’s family. Crump represented Travon Martin’s family after his death in February of 2012. The St. Louis County NAACP is holding a public meeting at 6 pm today. The hacker group Anonymous has threatened to take action if police interfere with protests.

Driver killed after being hit by Tony Stewart’s race car

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart was participating in a spring car race in New York on Saturday night when he car struck and killed another driver. The driver, Kevin Ward Jr., had gotten out of his car on the track seemingly to confront Stewart. Stewart and Ward’s cars had collided shortly before, causing Ward’s car to crash into the wall. Video of the incident is available. After Stewart’s team originally said he would race on Sunday at Watkins Glen in a Sprint Cup race, he ultimately decided not to race.

 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles earns $65 million in opening weekend

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot made some people look like fools by beating their projections by a hefty margin. That $65 million is more than the 2007 animated version made during its entire theater run. Guardians of the Galaxy brought in $41.5 million in its second weekend of release, a 56% drop. Step Up All In brought in $6.5 million in its opening weekend, the lowest of the franchise’s five films.

Rory McIlroy wins PGA Championship

25-year-old Rory McIlroy won his fourth major as the sun was setting in Louisville on Sunday. He becomes the third youngest golfer in history to win four majors.

Nelly getting his own reality show on BET

BET announced today in The Hollywood Reporter that BET has announced several new shows, including a “docuseries” involving Nelly. The show has not yet been named, but will consist of eight hour-long episodes offering “viewers an all-access pass to Nelly’s life”.

Mo’Ne Davis of the Taney Dragons out of Philadelphia struck out six batters and gave up just three hits yesterday in six innings of work. Taney shut out the Newark team and will represent Philadelphia in the Little League World Series.

Cardinals drop two of three in Baltimore

The St. Louis Cardinals sit two games back in the National League Central after dropping two out of three games to the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend. Friday’s starter Justin Masterson was chased from the game after two innings of work. He gave up seven hits and five runs in a little over two innings of work and recorded the loss. The Cardinals ended up on the wrong side of a 10-3 game on Saturday. John Lackey gave up 13 hits and 9 runs in five innings of work. Lance Lynn got eight rungs of support in picking up the win on Sunday. Shelby Miller takes the mound at 6:10 pm tonight in Miami against Tom Koehler and the Miami Marlins. The first-place Milwaukee Brewers open up a four-game series against the Chicago Cubs tonight.
