Mike Stud will be in St. Louis July 18 playing at The Pageant

Rapper Mike Stud returns to St. Louis on Friday, July 18. Whereas Stud’s last visit, in October of 2013, was at Fubar; he’ll be playing The Pageant this time around. IamG is opening for Stud at all of the #StudSummer stops while Justina will also be on the bill in St. Louis and several other cities. DJ Leon Lamont will open at The Pageant. Tickets to the show are $17.50 in advance and $20 at the door.

Stud’s latest album, Closer, was released on July 7 and quickly took the #1 spot on iTunes. It’s garnered favorable reviews, including from Anaheim Angels star Mike Trout, who counts himself a Stud fan.

Michael Seander Jr. had dreams of pitching in the major leagues. He received a full ride to Duke University and had an All-American freshman season. The injury bug then struck Seander and he had to undergo Tommy John surgery. He recorded “College Humor” while  recovering from the surgery as a joke with his Duke teammates. The video now has 1.5 million views on YouTube and is one of several of his videos over the million mark. Seander gained recognition for his music as Mike Stud. He titled his first mix tape ‘A Toast To Tommy’ as a nod to how he got his start in music.

Stud originally built his fan base with a “frat-rap” style. He kept those fans happy while adding more as he released remixes and covers. He compiled those into a mix tape titled #SundayStudDay. These covers show that Stud is talented in more areas then just rapping clever lyrics.

Take this remix of Ed Sheeran’s “A-Team”

Or this cover of Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend”

“Your girl taken. Call Liam Neeson, bro”. That’s good. You’ll notice in that video that Stud is wearing a Freshletes shirt. Freshletes is a St. Louis company with offices on South Jefferson Avenue.

The Dallas Observer called Stud one of the better NCAA student-athletes turned rappers.

Here’s a promo video Stud shot for Closer, which was  produced by Louis Bell. It features professional athletes such as MLBers Trout and Jay Bruce as well as U.S. National Team member Geoff Cameron.

Here’s the title track from the new album.

DJ Leon Lamont will open the July 18 show at The Pageant at 8 pm. Justina and IamG take the stage at 8:50 pm. Mike Stud will take the stage at approximately 9:15. Tickets for the show can be purchased in advance for $17.50 at ThePageant.com
