I admit it! I am a Bravo lover, and I am very excited that they have just announced their slate of 15 new shows! The new slate combines the die-hard Real Housewives franchise with original scripted series shows. It seems with the new slate, they have stayed true to their formula of drama, relationships, and some healthy competition. Here are my favorite Scripted Newbies:
Odd Mom Out
In keeping with the Bravo focus on how the wealthy make it through the day, this show is not about keeping up with the neighbors in the cul-de-sac. Nope, this is about keeping up with the uber rich moms of New York’s Upper East Side where elite, hip and trendy can be so 30 seconds ago!
Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce
Based on the best-selling Girlfriends’ Guide book series by Vicki Iovine, the series follows a 40 something-year old self-help author as she tries to hide her separation from her husband and navigate the dating scene.
Then there’s the Unscripted Series. Anything with Top Chef gets my vote, plus there’s a new dating show, a “Divorce Diva,” and Kandi and Todd plan their wedding! Check out My Top 6 Favorites for the New Unscripted Series Group.
Top Chef Duels
Bravo will be bringing back the 18 most bad-ass chefs from previous seasons and putting them to the test head-to-head in a three round competition. Cheftestants will compete in the finale for $100,000! I can’t wait to see which cheftestants will be competing!
Best New Restaurant
Tom Colicchio has to get a new gig too! Tom, along with his trusted team of experts, pit 16 of the nation’s hottest new restaurants against each other to see who provides the best all-around, top-to-bottom experience. The series is modeled after the UK hit Ramsay’s Best Restaurant from executive producer Gordon Ramsay. If it’s modeled after Ramsay’s show, you know it will be a hot competition, and with maybe a smidge less cursing!
100 Dates follows a group of young, successful New York singles as they search for love. This will be Bravo’s first foray into a real-time docu-drama production, airing shows the same week they are shot and giving viewers the opportunity to interact with the show immediately through social media. Who knows, your advice to one of the singles may just help them find love!
Manzo’d with Children
Caroline Manzo of The Real Housewives of New Jersey attempts to run her crazy Italian household of adults who still act like children. Love her or hate her, this one could be a crack up and full of some good advice…or what not to do.
Untying the Knot, Premiering June
When couples go from “I do” to “I don’t,” Vikki Ziegler is who they call to mediate, advise and divide their assets out of court. Each episode features a different divorcing couple struggling to divvy up their belongings that range from dazzling diamonds to the family pets. Why let a judge decide your fate when this “Divorce Diva” can cut through all the drama to determine who will get what?
The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding
While the show’s title is not yet definite, hopefully Kandi and Todd’s marriage will be. Congratulations are in order…but not without a little bit of drama. Each episode follows Kandi and Todd as they plan a larger-than-life wedding amidst the drama and disapproval of Momma.
There are several Unscripted Projects still in development as well. This one caught my eye because of how different it sounds:
Going Going Gone (working title)
A never-before-attempted live televised estate sale where viewers are given the chance to snoop around the most spectacular homes in the country and bid LIVE on what’s inside! From a hand-sewn peacock feather dress modeled by Naomi Campbell at Milan Fashion Week to a stunning worn leather knife roll used by Wolfgang Puck at the time he opened his first Spago, at home viewers will have the opportunity to own some truly unique treasures.
In addition to the newbies, plenty of oldies but goodies got renewed. Here are my favorites:
