David Nail and the Casey Donahew Band Playing St. Louis This Weekend

Not one but two country concerts are happening this weekend in south St. Louis. The Casey Donahew Band plays Off Broadway this Friday and David Nail plays the River City Casino on Saturday.
A few tickets are still available to Nail’s show and are priced at $40 for seats and $25 for standing-room. Tickets to see Casey Donahew on Friday are $15 with a $3 minor surcharge. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
David Nail is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan hailing from Kennett, Missouri. His latest single, “Whatever She’s Got” is currently the number one Country song in the country in terms of radio airplay.
Nail sang “God Bless America” before game seven of the 2011 World Series, the National Anthem before the 2012 Mizzou-Kentucky Homecoming football game and gave a concert this past season in Baer Park before a St. Louis Rams game.
While Nail has had his own hits such as “Red Light”, ‘Turning Home”, “Let It Rain” and “The Sound of a Million Dreams”, he has also had several well-received covers like Adele’s “Someone Like You” and this recent cover of Elvis’s “In The Ghetto” on The Bobby Bones Show
Casey Donahew started playing and writing songs when he was in college at Texas A&M and counts Garth Brooks and Pat Green as two of his inspirations. The band has toured extensively throughout Texas and the Midwest. They are known for putting on exciting live shows and currently have 270,000 ‘Likes’ on Facebook with a good amount of those in the 18-24 year old crowd.
Donahew also counts Matchbox 20 among his musical influences. He regularly covers some of their songs in his sets.

The Chris Welch Band is opening for Donahew. They describe themselves as an “Outlaw Country band from Advance, MO”. Matt Stell & The Crashers are among the bands in the “Sounds Like” category on the band’s site. Stell was here last month opening for Charlie Worsham. Fellow Missourian John D Hale is also listed. He was in attendance last month at Off Broadway watching Worsham and Stell.
Doors open at 8 pm on Friday night at Off Broadway with the show starting at 9 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online or at the door.
