So it’s the weekend after Christmas and right before New Year’s Eve. There’s not a whole lot going on, but if you’re looking to get out and about for a bit, here’s your St. Louis weekend event guide: Thursday, December 26th through Sunday, December 29th.

schlafly 22 Schlafly 22nd Anniversary: Celebrate Schlafly’s 22nd birthday at their original location, the Schlafly Tap Room, with 1991 beer prices all day and live music from Ransom Note, The Union  Electric, and TOK starting at 9pm in the Club Room.

raja Cheers! Raja Turns 21! Raja, the first Asian elephant born at the St. Louis Zoo on December 27, 1992, is the proud papa of babies Maliha, age 7, Jade, age 6 ½, Kenzi, age 2½, and Priya, age 8 months. He turns 21 on  Friday and they are inviting you to come celebrate with him. They have constructed giant presents filled with some of the elephant’s favorite things, including cereal, melons, bananas, popcorn and more. Visitors are invited to sing “Happy Birthday” and cheer for Raja when he comes out to “open” his gifts. In addition, you can sign a giant birthday card for him, and participate in elephant activities including keeper chats, and finally enjoy birthday cupcakes and hot chocolate.

kem Holiday Jam with KEM: A night of music featuring KEM, Faith Evans, and After 7. Tickets range from $49-$89. R&B soul singer KEM makes his way to St. Louis as part of his holiday tour. The holiday spirit continues after Christmas is over, as you listen to Kem, Faith, and After 7 perform Christmas classics, including tracks from KEM’s latest holiday album, “What Christmas Means.”

kwanzaa-usa Kwanzaa: Festival of the First Fruits: A Kwanzaa ceremony is being held at the Missouri Botanical Garden this Friday. It highlights a day of storytelling, craft and jewelry displays and authentic African drumming and musical performances. Admission is included with garden admission.

Time: 12-4pm

Place: MO Botanical Garden

kwanzaa-usa Kwanzaa events at SLAM: The St. Louis Art Museum hosts Art After 5: Celebrate Kwanzaa!, programs sponsored in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., St. Louis Alumnae Chapter on Friday, December 27th. Then celebrate the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa with a scavenger hunt on  Sunday and make your own zawadi (gift). At 2pm, check out a free performance in the Farrell Auditorium featuring the Kumasi Kamberg Drumming and Dance Ensemble, LIVETY: Indigenous Dance, and storytelling.

www.barlowpro.com Anheuser Busch Brewery Holiday Lights: This year, for the first time ever, the iconic holiday lights that adorn the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in St. Louis can be enjoyed up-close as part of a new walking tour filled with fun, family-friendly activities. This free event offers live holiday music, fire pits, s’mores and complimentary beer samples for adults 21 and older. Free parking is available at the A-B Tour Center at Lynch and 12th.

Javier-Mendoza-full-size Javier Mendosa at The Wine Press: Enjoy a buffet dinner including chicken and steak, assorted cheeses, fruits, vegetables, ciabatta bread and a glass of wine. Then stay for a special performance by the RFT’s 2011 Best Solo Artist, Javier Mendoza. A delicious dinner followed by great music for just $38/person. Advanced reservations required.

aa Acoustics Anonymous Album Release party: An album release party for their new album: Honest & Wild. The party will feature special guests ClusterPluck and a late night set by Electric Rehab featuring Sean Canan and Dave Clark. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9pm. Advanced tickets are $10, or $12 at the door. Admission includes a copy of their new album. 18+

blues Blues vs Blackhawks: A great event to bring the family to, especially if they got some new Blues gear for Christmas. Show off your STL spirit against the Chicago Blackhawks. And in case you haven’t seen it, check out the 12 Days of Christmas from The Blues.

Date: Saturday, December 28th

Time: 7pm

Place: Scottrade Center

nutcracker The Nutcracker: If you didn’t get a chance to check out the Missouri Ballet Theatre perform the classic ballet, The Nutcracker, before Christmas, you’re in luck. The St. Louis Ballet is performing the classic at Touhill Performing Arts Center until the 29th. The choreography and story of The Nutcracker is enhanced each year by Saint Louis Ballet’s Artistic Director Gen Horiuchi. This holiday classic is perfect for the entire family. Adult tickets start at $28.

Place: Touhill Performing Arts Center – 1 University Blvd

If you haven’t had a chance to get out and see the St. Louis Holiday Light Shows, this is a great weekend. Most run until December 31st.
