Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to $586 Million
No one has bought a jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket since October. The original jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing was estimated at $550 million and has since climbed to $586 million. No matter if you take the annuity option or the upfront cash option, the federal government will still get a 25% cut of your winnings.
The Desolation of Smaug Brings In $73.7 Million
The second film in The Hobbit franchise fell short of the first’s $84.6 million first weekend. It still easily won the weekend. Frozen brought in $22 million in its fourth weekend of release. The other film opening this past weekend, Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas, took the third spot for the weekend with $16 million. SantaCon St. Louis Is Much Tamer Than SantaCon New York
SantaCon is an event held in cities throughout the world. The St. Louis edition was held this past Saturday and went off pretty much without a hitch. Check out the pictures courtesy of the Riverfront Times. The New York edition did not go nearly as well. The event was already under fire due to previous debauchery and then this happened. (Note: The video contains a lot of violence and some profanity)
Google’s Andy Rubin didn’t say what it paid for robot-maker Boston Dynamics. The company that was spun off from MIT in 1993 receives most of its revenue from the work it does with the US Government, most notably with the defense department’s Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). 2nd Jack Reacher Movie Gets The Green Light
Tom Cruise will return as Jack Reacher in the movie adaptation of Lee Child’s Never Go Back. Child announced the development with a link on his Facebook page. The post currently has over 1,600 comments with a large amount complaining that Tom Cruise has no business portraying Reacher is described in the best-selling books as a physically imposing specimen of a man, which is pretty much completely the opposite of Tom Cruise.

‘Beyonce’ Sells A Whole Bunch On iTunes
Beyonce released a self-titled album exclusively at midnight this past Friday morning. It stole sleep from millions of people including this Buzzfeed writer. It’s quite the story about how she kept it a secret. We’re talking a 14-song, 17-video “visual album” here. In three days, the album was bought 828,773 times. Previously, her hottest-selling album in its first week was her second back in 2006 with 541,000 purchases. That album, like all of her other previous ones, dropped on a Tuesday which gave it six selling days in its first week. Beyonce got down with her bad self on Saturday night here in St. Louis.

He counts Step Up 2: The Streets as one of his favorite movies along with Footloose, Rent, Grease and Paul Blart: Mall Cop. He loves Mizzou but only wants them in the SEC so he can tailgate in Nashville. He owns a ShakeWeight and AbLounger, but still loves him some John Donut and Billie's Fine Foods.
