Your STL weekend event guide (plus Thursday and Monday). Hey, who am I to judge how long the weekend should last?

fringe festival St. Lou Fringe: The Fringe Festival is here once again. 5 days. 5 venues. $5. For $5, you can purchase a sweet badge and get tickets to the Fringe festival, free entry into the after-parties and get discounts from participating businesses. Once you have your badge, check out the list of talented artists and choose which shows you want to see. Venues include: Fubar, Kranzberg Arts Center and Satori. Every night after the shows there will be an after-party at a local bar. Ticket costs per each show vary but are never more than $12.

St.-Louis-Zoo ZOOFARI: The zoo closes at 12pm on Friday, June 21st to host this amazing event that only happens once every 2 years. The proceeds from this fundraiser go towards helping save endangered species. This is a black-tie with a kick kind of party. While the attire is formal, attendees are encouraged to get “wild.” Add a tail, an animal pattern, animal themed accessories, etc. Live music will include Huey Lewis and the News, the Fabulous Motown review, DJ Nune, Griffin and the Gargoyles, Peter Schankman Trio and DJ Andrew Mullins. The event will feature food & drink from 60 local restaurants. It will also include a silent auction. Ticket cost starts at $225.

mark sweeney Comedy Night at The Dubliner: For 2 nights only, you can catch the hilarious Mark Sweeney, from HBO, Comedy Central and ‘Night Shift’ with Kevin Feguson, perform stand-up in the Leinster Room. Tickets are $10.

Date: Friday, June 21 & Saturday, June 22

Place: The Dubliner – 1025 Washington Ave

joedirtandthedirtyboysband Grub & Groove: A fun, free event in the park featuring live music by Joe Dirt & The Dirty Boys and The UltraViolets for the adults plus music for the kids by Sugar-Free All-Stars and The Bubble Bus. There will be food available for purchase from local restaurants: The Mack, Stellina, Bartolina’s, Russell’s, Onesto and Mathew’s Kitchen. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and cash (no coolers).

Place: Francis Park – St. Louis Hills

food bowl mat 9th Annual Purina Pooches in the Ballpark: The one Cardinals game each year where you can bring your favorite furry friend…your dog. With the purchase of a special ticket, you will not only get to enjoy watching the Cardinals beat the Rangers, but you and your pet will also get to participate in a pre-game pet costume parade. All participants will receive a Purina goodie bag and Pet Bowl Mat. In addition, Prairie Farms is hosting Prairie Farms Runs the Bases, allowing children 15 and under to run the bases after the game.

belleville pride 6th Annual MetroEast Pride: While not as big as PrideFest St. Louis, this festival also benefits the LGBT community, promoting diversity and equality. Events include entertainment by Gateway Men’s Chorus, CHARIS, Philip Womble, Avery Hill Band, Kirk Nelson, Summer Osborne, Jennifer Norman and Drag on Main including the Reigning King and Queen of Metro East Pride: Matt Simpson and Tiana De La Qua. There will be food and drink available for purchase and free make-up applications and hair-dos provided by Pure Natur Salon in Fairview.

Place: Downtown Belleville – W. Main

fiesta in florissant Fiesta in Florissant: A free festival with live music from Koctel Band, Super Cats band and more plus a Quinceañera Fashion Show, folk dancers, giveaways, Los Niños children’s pavilion, dance contests and other fun events. Authentic food, drinks and craft items will be available for purchase.

Date: Saturday, June 22nd & Sunday, June 23rd

Time: Sat: 10am-10pm, Sun: 11am-9pm

Place: Knights of Columbus Park, Florissant

bonerama Bonerama: Urban Chestnut and Broadway Oyster Bar present Bonerama, a New Orleans Brass Funk Rock Band with an ‘anything goes’ concept. Tickets are $15 at the door. Enjoy some great music and great food and then head over to the Cardinals game afterwards.

Place: Broadway Oyster Bar

backyard tour 3rd Annual Sustainable Backyard Tour: A free, self-guided open house tour of outdoor residential spaces all throughout St. Louis. See how others have integrated sustainable living practices into their lives. You can learn how to grow fruit trees, raise your own chickens and bees, plant vegetables, save energy by using solar and geothermal energy sources and so much more. Get your tickets and stay posted fro the tour map.

Place: All over St. Louis

charis Out at the Ballpark: Join Pride St. Louis at the Cardinals game. Tickets are $25 for sections 356-360. CHARIS and the Gateway Men’s Choir will be performing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame.” A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Pride St. Louis.
