Looking for new friends to hang out with? Do you have a favorite sport or recreation that you enjoy? How about just new to the St. Louis area and need to meet new people? Meetup St. Louis has what you’re looking for! Meetup is a nationwide organization that brings together people with mutual interests. Through its online community, it allows you to connect with people in your city for fun, sports, dining, social connections, business, networking, art and many other groups. I recently joined a meetup group named “The Secret Get Out of St. Louis Travel Club“. This group meets a couple of times a month at all the newest restaurants in town, we also take tours of local wineries, and plan other day trips to fun locations. Our group is very diverse with people from all walks of life coming together with the common interest of getting out and exploring the St. Louis area and beyond.

Meetup St. Louis is a free site that allows you to join as many groups as you like. If you don’t see a group that has your specific interest, then you can start a group of your own! Our group has approximately 80 members, however only 20-30 meetup at a time. I went to my first meetup with the group last week at Takaya New Asian restaurant. Takaya is a new restaurant in the MX District in downtown St. Louis. They are scheduled to have their grand opening this week but opened their doors to our meetup group as their first guests. The food was wonderful! We had such a good time,  a few of us left Takaya and walked across the street to Robust for wine and dessert. I met over 10 new friends and had a great time! I can’t wait for our next meetup at Sanctuaria!
