Free Giveaways on Election Day

Yes that’s right, tomorrow, November 8, 2016 is election day. And what better way to end the political madness and reward yourself for making your voice count than by snatching up some free stuff on your way back to work, home, school or wherever it is you’re going for the rest of the day.

Now I know there’s been a lot of talk that it is frowned upon to reward people after they vote, which is nonsense. It is not endorsing any one candidate or bribing anyone to vote. It is simply a way to tell them thank you for completing an act which they were going to do anyway. Since when has kindness become illegal?

Anyway, because of this, many of the free giveaways that have been shouted about over the past years are now quietly whispered about. That being said, there are still places offering free giveaways on November 8th as an election day celebration. Here’s a list of items that I was able to find:

#1. Krispy Kreme is offering a free doughnut of your choice to anyone wearing a sticker indicating he or she voted. The offer is good only on Election Day – Nov. 8 – and you can go here to see what locations are participating.

#2: Great American Cookies: Show your “I voted” sticker and get a free regular cookie at participating locations.

#3: YMCA: Need a place to drop off the kiddo(s) while you vote? Check with your local YMCA; many are offering free childcare on November 8th so adults can go vote.

#4: Firehouse Subs: Flash your “I Voted” sticker to score a free medium drink.

#5: Gold’s Gym – Work off the stress of deciding one of the most important decisions of our lifetime: Hillary or Trump. When you bring in your “I Voted” sticker or valid voter’s registration card, you can enjoy free gym access on November 8.

There are other businesses offering specials during election week which you might want to take advantage of such as Bob Evans, Church’s Chicken and White Castle. We will update more as we learn of them in the area.

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
