Fashion Overload In St. Louis

Beginning Monday, October 8th, 2012, St. Louis will transform into fashion central. So if you’re looking to add a little style to your life, now’s the time!

Of course, the main event is St. Louis Fashion Week, a 5-day long fashion extravaganza with runway competitions, important designers and swanky parties, but on top of that, there are 2 other events to complete this fashion overload in St. Louis next week.

  • First, to kick off this week long fashion fiesta, we have The Pink Party, a unique hair and make-up fashion show held at the MOTO Museum on Monday, October 8th benefiting the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Program. This event will feature local hair salons designing one-of-a-kind hair and make-up ensembles to coordinate with the theme: Influential Women In History. Similar to fashion week, there will be a pre-show cocktail party, runway show and free stuff.
  • Then on Friday, October 12th, the Loop is taking part in the festivities with Style in the Loop. From 6pm-8pm, St. Louisans can walk the streets and local businesses of Delmar to view models cat-walking in various designs, live art, apparel from local fashion designers such as Bluebird Apparel, Conjetta, Glitterfly and more, live music, sidewalk sales, and the Style Parade, which will begin at Blueberry Hill at 7:30 and proceed to the Regional Arts Commission building for the finale runway show at 8pm. To end in style, Fitz’s will host a free after-party starting at 8pm with drink specials and DJ Dominic.

These two events alone, however, aren’t enough to create this fashion transformation. No, it wouldn’t be possible without St. Louis Fashion Week.

Starting Tuesday, October 9th, locations throughout St. Louis such as the St. Louis Science Center, Galleria, Plaza Frontenac and Pointe 400 will be flooded with designers, models and fashionistas showcasing and previewing the latest fashion trends. There will be cocktail parties, runway shows, free gift bags and after-parties at trendy nightlife hot spots like SubZero Vodka Bar, BlackFinn and to close it all out, the Official Finale After-Party at Three Sixty Rooftop Bar on Saturday, October 13th at 9pm.

Ladies of St. Louis, dust off those stilettos and prepare for glam, and men, iron those collared shirts and break out the hair products, because it’s time to dress to impress for the official fashion week of St. Louis.

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
