2012 St. Louis Pet Expo
So we all know St. Louis loves their beer festivals, food festivals, Mardi Gras and Cardinals games, but we also love our pets!
Between the Mardi Gras pet parade, Central West End’s Halloween pet parade, Bark in the Park in Forest Park, Purses for Pooches and all the other little guys that pop-up each month, St. Louis is really great at showing love to the Pets of the Lou, and the St. Louis Pet Lovers Expo is really the best of the best as far as pet events are concerned.
The Pet Expo takes place in St. Charles on Saturday, October 20th. This is a huge event (and free!). There will be over 150 exhibitors (that means TONS of free goodies for your pet), prize giveaways, discounted vaccinations, free nail trims and great entertainment.
Kicking off the full day of live entertainment will be Shorty Rossi, the star of Pit Boss on Animal Planet at 10:35am. Then look for pet CPR demonstrations, a musical chair competition, a pet talent show and pet costume contest. Additionally there will be an activity course with agility demos by Purina Farms, a K-9 working dog demo, easy trick teaching methods demo and Big Air DockDog competitions.
If you don’t yet have a pet but are interested in adopting, you cannot pick a better time to get one than during this event! There will be dozens of rescue groups hosting a mega-adoption event, so not only will you score an amazing new furry friend, you and your new pet will go home fully stocked along with all the information you could possibly need to continue proper care of your pet.
Sometimes it’s too much to bring your pet to an event with hundreds of people, treats and other pets roaming around and that’s ok too. Come by yourself and have the advantage of extra hands for grabbing more stuff and being able to stop and pet everyone else’s dogs while browsing the exhibits.
This is not an event for dog lovers only. Joy Gioi from House Rabbit Society will be speaking at 11:15am about the joys of having a rabbit as a pet, as well as Jim Brumley from the Exotic Amphibian and Reptile Center speaking at 4:15pm on having a reptile for a pet and proper care of captive reptiles. This is a unique experience for all pet lovers so don’t forget to mark it on your calendars.
