Grab your lederhosen and a sweater folks, it’s almost October! And what better way to celebrate the end of September than Oktoberfest?

I know many of you are thinking I’m a couple weeks early…but I’m not!

I’m not talking about Soulard’s Oktoberfest, this weekend is Oktoberfest in St. Charles! And so far, the weather forecast calls for perfect weather!

Events – Saturday, September 29

8:30am – Registration begins for the 1-mile JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes along the Katy Trail. Walk begins at 9am

10:00am – Head over to Main Street to watch the Oktoberfest Parade

12:30pm-2pm – The Wiener Dog Derby and Dachshund Race & Fashion Show at the Autumn Brauhaus Tent

12:30pm – Swiss Meats Brats Challenge and Sam Adams Beer & Stein Challenge

10:00am-11:00pm – Check the schedule for a full day of great live entertainment from bands like Austrian Express and Dave Glover Band

This event has sold out the past 2 years and there only 68 VIP tickets left for this year’s event, which include All You Can Drink and Eat from 12pm-10:30pm and access to VIP porta-potties.  Get your VIP tickets here.

 Sunday, September 30

9:00am – Oktoberfest 5K and Root Beer Fun Run/Walk – This sounds like my kind of activity!

9:00am-4:30pm – Check out the 26th Annual Vintage Car Show and take the wheel in the Nascar simulator at the South end of Frontier Park

12:00pm-5:00pm – Check the schedule for a full day of great live entertainment from bands like Laytham & Holmes and Obenheimer Express

Besides the food, beer, parade and cute wiener dogs, there are also tons of kids activities such as pumpkin carving, bounce houses, face painting, magic shows and more and some cool t-shirts to take home as souvenirs, for only $10!

Happy almost October!

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
