The 2012 Ultimate Urban Scavenger Race

The 3rd annual St. Louis Challenge urban adventure race is taking place September 8th, 2012.

So why am I talking about it now?

Groupon has a deal going on where you can enter for only $20 and it includes the race t-shirt. The regular cost to enter is $50 so this is a a steal. Currently, over 130 have taken advantage of this Groupon so you know it’s going to be a good race. But you only have 1 day left (actually only 15 hours) to get in on the deal.

The Race

Park 5K, part scavenger hunt, part exploration and all fun!

You get together a team of 2 or more and dash around the city solving quirky clues while discovering parts of the city you never knew existed.

Packet pick-up is at 11am at Over/Under on Washington Ave and the race begins at 1pm.

The Post-Race Festivities

When you finish the race, there will be cold water, food and drink specials, music, a costume contest and the announcement of prizes for the winners at Over/Under bar.

The Prizes

1st place wins $300, 2nd place wins $100, 3rd place $50 and 4th and 5th receive $50 bar tabs. All very acceptable to me. Not to mention there are $50 prizes awarded for Best Costume and Top Family Team.

Now for the best part: The top 5 teams move on to win free entry into the National Challenge Championship Race in New Orleans in December for a chance to win $5,000!!

So sure, you can decide later and pay the $50 registration fee, or you can stop being a procrastinator and take the deal while it’s here, register for the race now and have more time to prepare your team. So as Heidi Klum would say: You’re either in or you’re out.

Jessica

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
