Nerdy Date Night At The Science Center

I guess it is telling that one of my first dates with my husband was to the St. Louis Science Center.  A picnic in Forest Park, then star-gazing with local astronomers who had brought their telescopes.  I can’t remember what planet it was that they had them positioned to, but I can remember standing in lines with lots of kids getting to know my future husband.  It was relaxed, it was cheap, it was something different and it was a great night.

Now the Science Center has made it official with Cheap Date Night. This one is geared towards adults and has more to offer than the night we went years ago. You probably already know that this weekend is the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. They are highlighting this in the Planetarium with “The Sky Tonight,” a simulation of the shower and an explanation of its connection with Greek myth. Then they will show a sci-fi classic: “When Worlds Collide.”  There will also be a cash bar so you can imbibe.
