Tonight the Ultimate Fighting Championship puts on UFC on Fox 3 with two St. Louis area fighters on the card. Jake Hecht of Troy, MO will take on Sean “The Punisher” Pierson and Lance Benoist will fight Seth “Polish Pistola” Baczynski. Both are Welterweight bouts.

Jake “The Hitman” Hecht will be the first fight of the night on Facebook. The card begins at 4pm Central. Benoist will also fight on the preliminary card, but later in the evening on Fuel TV. Jake, you may remember, graduated with me from Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Missouri. I wrote this piece shortly before his last UFC fight. He fell victim to an early armbar from T.J. Waldburger in his last fight. It was Waldburger’s 6th win in his last seven fights. Jake will be looking for his second UFC win in three fights when he faces Pierson, who has lost his last two. Pierson is a former Toronto Police Officer. He was forced to decide between fighting and being a Policeman in part because the Toronto force took issue with a nickname he used to use while fighting, “Pimp Daddy”.

Here’s an interview Jake gave about the fight to KnuckleJunkies.com Lance Benoist will be fighting in his second UFC bout after submitting undefeated Matt Riddle in his debut. That fight earned “Fight Of The Night” honors. Lance attended Festus High School in Festus, Missouri. He currently fights out of St. Charles, MO and has fought in numerous bouts in St. Charles. Here’s one. He recently lost his identical twin brother in April to a tragic car accident. Logan was a proud U.S. Marine. Lance’s opponent, Seth Barczynski, was won a fight on elbow strikes to his opponent AFTER breaking his arm, although that decision is may be under appeal. He is on his second tour with UFC and won his last fight by submission just 42 seconds into the fight. Here’s a piece KnuckleJunkies.com did with Lance. UFC on FX 3 begins at 4pm tonight with two fights exclusively on Facebook. Be sure to cheer on Jake Hecht here.  The fights then move to Fuel TV beginning at 5pm. Here’s a handy guide of what channel you will need to turn to to catch Lance Benoist’s fight. The fights will then move to FX at 8pm and culminate with a Flyweight Elimination match between Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall
