UnRavel 2011: A Night of Alternative Fashion

Do you LOVE Fashion? How about building materials? Wait, WHAT????
Unravel: Reveal will be a night of fashion, fun and cocktails as the uber-creative garments of Unravel 2011 are revealed to the public in the windows of the MX along Washington Avenue and 6th Street. All the garments on display were created by interior designers and interior finish manufacturer representatives. These creations on display will be ensembles made of living plants, carpet, wood, glass, textiles, and hardware. This event is a production of Arcturis and IIDA Mid-America with the support from many current and future MX District partners.
The evening with begin at 6 PM in the 4th floor banquet space of the new Embassy Suites St. Louis – Downtown at 7th & Washington with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Be sure to check out the open display rooms of Downtown St. Louis’ newest hotel that was built in the first 5 floors of the former Dillard’s department store and offers 212 beautifully-renovated two-room suites. Tours will also be available of the Laurel Apartments that occupies the rest of the Laurel Building with 205 apartments with huge windows and high-end finishes featuring a 10,000 square foot open-air atrium now under construction with outdoor grills, waterfalls, sundeck and splash pool, garden paths, and a dog park. At 7:30 PM, the group will make their way down to Washington Avenue for the “reveal” of the garments in storefront displays of the MX to celebrate the history of the area before construction begins in early 2012 on the build-out of Pi Pizzeria, MX Movies and the Sixth Street Theater.
