Flannery's Pub – Lunching in the Loft District

I am so over the moon excited to be working downtown.  Not just downtown but I get the privilege of managing Ely Walker, one of the coolest buildings in the Loft District of Washington Ave.   This is an amazing part of St. Louis with so many old beautiful buildings being brought back to their original glory or sometimes even better including The Laurel another Mills managed building opening soon.  The most urban feeling of all of the neighborhoods I am simply bursting at the seams excited to come to work everyday.

I am also excited each day for LUNCH!!  There are so many restaurants packed into this area.  From pizza to diners to Mexican to delis to high end steak houses this area has it all.  As often as I can I plan to explore the streets between Ely Walker and The Laurel and dine in every establishment that strikes my fancy.

First up the closest to Ely Walker, Flannery’s Pub.  This place was designed to feel like an Irish pub, a bit too upscale and sports bar-like to really capture that feeling, but if it’s sports bar you are looking for this is the place.  There were something like 20 TV’s on the wall all featuring sports.  It was a bit empty but this is more your happy hour or drinks before a game type of place.  The menu features some Irish dishes, but I opted to try their classic burger and seasoned fries. Solidly good, but not amazing.  I was intrigued by the fresh baked cookies topped with vanilla bean ice cream that I spotted on the dessert menu, but I was way too full for dessert.  I also liked that they recommend a beer to have with each of their meals on the menu.  Best thing to me in regards to lunch?  They deliver from 11-1pm.  Great for rainy days when I don’t want to try and park or get wet walking.
