Okay, I for one am over this extreme heat thing. I can’t even open my car door after work without double checking to make sure my eyebrows weren’t singed off from the fireball of heat that punches me in the face when I open the door. Even going to the pool on a day off isn’t enticing. If I wanted to take a hot bath I’d just stay at home, thank you very much.
And if you have kiddos, you might be finding yourself getting pretty imaginative with indoor activities. I never knew there was such a thing as cabin fever in the summer time.
So what’s the remedy? Glad you asked!
The Magic House is a great outlet for kids and parents alike. There are tons of fun, entertaining and educational (let’s keep that part a secret) things to do. My 3 year old son can play at the sand station for hours…seriously. And a bonus incentive to military families is that from Memorial Day to Labor Day admission is free!
Wehrenberg Theatres has FREE Family Series movie days on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The FREE show is at 10am and is something family friendly. This runs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10am through August 4th. July 27th & 28th is Ramona and Beezus.
Check with your church or a church in your area for Vacation Bible School. Typically the hours are somewhere between 6pm and 8 or 9pm and they don’t require you to be a member of the church to sign your child up. Usually there’s singing, snacks and crafts.
