Bridesmaids vs The Hangover II

Having heard mixed reviews for both of them, some suggesting Bridesmaids is the women’s version of The Hangover II, and some suggesting The Hangover II, although funny, did not top The Hangover, and both being the Top Movies of the Summer, I felt it was my duty to see them both immediately and decide for myself. So here is my movie rating:

bridesmaids Bridesmaids: Not the women’s version of The Hangover. While slightly vulgar in a few scenes, it was more or less your typical romantic comedy. I love romantic comedies so I was all about it, and it was very funny….Spoiler Alert: My favorite scene was when Annie and Helen drove by the Officer Rhodes like 50 times doing every illegal thing possible!

The Hangover II The Hangover II: One word: HILARIOUS! I’m generally not a fan of sequels, quadruples, etc, and will literally wait until they are out on normal cable channels years later before I watch them, but I gave it a chance and loved every minute! Of course it’s not original, it’s the sequel, but it’s hilarious, creative, and far more vulgar than the first. Zach Galifianakis could not be any funnier! Stu(Ed Helms) is, at times, a little over-dramatic, very Jim Carrey-like, but the crazy-funny things that happen to him make up for it.

In my Siskel and Ebert opinion: I give the Hangover II, 2 Enthusiastic Thumbs Up, the winner of my Bridesmaids vs Hangover II Battle!

FYI: You can see either of them for just $5 on Wacky Wednesday Nights at The Galleria or Chase Park Plaza.

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
