The Blue Hit

Recently I had a post about Cobden where I discussed the restaurant called Yellow Moon Cafe.

This past Friday, I was looking for something that I could do that night. I looked on Yellow Moon Cafe’s website and saw that The Blue Hit was going to play. I had never heard of them before but started listening to some of their music and loved them. So of course I was definitely excited about hearing them live.

The main singer is a girl with a sweet voice, quirky personality, and awesome sense of style (i think she said she was wearing a dress that her friend’s mom wore in the 70’s). Then there is a guy on the cello who is awesomely talented and smiles when he messes up. There is also a guy on the guitar who is able to drive the music to where drums are just not even missed.

In the middle of the show, they had a time where you can check out their merchandise. I went over to find a rack and trunk of t-shirts in all different sizes and forms. They were not the typical $20 stiff t-shirts that you buy just because you like the band but are ashamed to where anywhere but painting. The girl selling them told me that they buy them from thrift shops and then they screen print themselves. They were only ten dollars each and the girl encouraged me to try them on. Sweet! Who does that? 🙂

The Blue Hit is a talented band but very down to earth.

Perfect combination and completely refreshing!
