Celebrate the Weather

If you’re anything like me, then you’re too excited to wait until March for Mardi Gras!

So start celebrating early! The festivities begin this weekend.

Friday night: Wine and Beer Taste at the World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park from 5:30-9:30pm. $35 at the door. It’s known as the “Mardi Gras Happy Hour.”

Saturday: Crystal Cajun Cook-Off also at the World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park from noon-4pm. $35 at the door. Ten professional and ten amateur chefs compete against each other while making some awesome foods.

And if you’re not a crazy Mardi Gras fanatic like me, then go just to enjoy the food, wine and outdoors. Phil the groundhog said Spring was coming early and so far he has been right. Get outdoors before Mother Nature returns from vacation and brings back the arctic temperatures(not that I’m implying that the all-knowing groundhog could possibly be incorrect in his weather forecast).

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
