I was recently reading the Apartment Therapy Blog where the writer was discussing how this light switch plate reminds her of the comfort of her home. It’s for the light that she turns on when she opens her front door and therefore, it’s the first thing she sees when she comes home. It reminded me of my previous blog about how pets make a home welcoming. She mentioned that some people have a pet, but what was most interesting to me was how a small, inanimate object such as a light switch plate, that a guest may not even notice, is what makes her open the door and say “Ahh…I’m home.” 

I’m interested in finding out what little inanimate object, decoration, scent, or whatever it is that makes you, the homeowner/apartment renter open the door and say ahhh…I’m home. Anyone care to share?
