How to: find a good hair stylist

If you are anything like me, you will go six months with out having your hair professionally cut because you had a previous “hair horror” experience. Which is why I came up with 4 ways to find a hair stylist (a good one).

1. Pay attention to other people’s hair.- I don’t mean celebrities but real people you see in the grocery store or at work. After giving them a compliment that makes them feel good, ask where they got their hair done (and who did it).

2. Look up salons online and their ratings. This is easier to do in big cities. But if you can’t find a stylist you like in a small town (like Carbondale), don’t be scared to drive a little to another town.

3. Look up the products they use. This may not seem too important, but can really make all the difference. Aveda salons have personally been my favorite. They use mostly all natural products that make your hair feel amazing!

4. Pay attention to training and experience. You may want someone young, but just make sure they have had enough time to work out their scissors.
