Ornaments for Officers

I was watching the news last night and heard about this awesome not-for-profit project that raises money for the families of police and firemen who have fallen or were disabled in the line of duty through the sales of donated Christmas ornaments at participating businesses.  All proceeds benefit Backstoppers.

Ornaments for Officers How it works:  Individuals and companies will donate new and vintage ornaments, which will be distributed to participating businesses, along with a spiral artificial Christmas tree.  Participating businesses will receive 500 ornaments initially, which will sell for $3.00 regardless of the original price.

The goal is to create an annual fundraiser for the families and generate $1,000 per participating business through the sale of the donated ornaments.  They hope to raise $10,000 in this first year!

For all participating locations, check out www.ornamentsforofficers.com.  I’ve requested a tree so I can set it up at our apartment community.  I think this would be a great way to target several homes at once!
